Tokyo Police Club | Canadian Indie Rock Band Newmarket
Tokyo Police Club is a Canadian indie rock band from Newmarket, Ontario, consisting of singer and bassist Dave Monks, keyboardist Graham Wright, guitarist Josh Hook, and drummer Greg Alsop.
Tokyo Police Club was founded in 2005, while the game was a joke in the basement after the four from the group disbanded earlier Suburbia. The band began to get attention and to play some small shows throughout the Toronto area. With sums are in Montreal, where the band lived together in a dormitory at McGill University, Tokyo Police Club was asked to play at Pop Montreal festival city, and soon after, she signed with Toronto label Paper Bag Records.
Since the founding of their band at various festivals. In particular, they appeared in 2006 and the first Edgefest Osheaga Festival. In 2007 they performed at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, at Lollapalooza in Chicago, at Bumbershoot in Seattle, at the Glastonbury Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival in England in 2008 at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and the Rock Am Ring — – Festival in Germany and Street Scene in San Diego.
In autumn 2008 the band played on the last 6 weeks Troublemaker Weezer’s tour with Angels and Airwaves.
