| Nawaz says waiting for abolishment of 17th amendment |
Updated at: 1511 PST, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 GHOTKI: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Mian Nawaz Sharif said since two years, we are waiting for the abolishment of 17th amendment and implementation of charter of democracy.
Talking to media in Khan Garh area of Ghotki, Nawaz Sharif said country is facing severe problems including unemployment and poverty. There is a big rift between rich and poor which is a basic cause of turmoil. PML-N wants to eliminate poverty and unemployment, end of turmoil and strong democracy in the country. Nawaz made it clear that he doesn’t want to take premiership from Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. He said internal difference will collapse the democracy. About Premier Gilani’s statement of giving good news today, PML-N chief said withdrawal of notification is not good news. The real good news will make everyone happy. Democracy will always be in jeopardy in the absence of good governance. He expressed hope that people of Sindh will support him. |
