BJ Holmes Every time point had to play Texas A & M, which responded well. But members of the media is always doing the same thing after: How difficult is it?

After playing 36 minutes at point guard against Kansas in the Big 12 semifinals, Holmes was forced to admit that it is very difficult – at least when it came out.

“Thirty-six minutes at the point of which was not used, so it opened my eyes,” said Holmes. “Physically, they hit you at all times at the point, and keep Sherron [Collins] was not an easy task.

Holmes will take every minute I could. Just three weeks ago he thought he had broken his leg when Texas J’Covan Brown attacked him, and they both went to the plant from the end of the A & M 74-58 victory at Reed Arena.

“Do not take anything for granted,” said Holmes. “Every time you play this game as my order. I am glad that does not rotate. It is a blessing for me and I will play harder for all parties. This is how I perceive it.”

While Dash Harris is a starting point and the Guardia M, Holmes has won the confidence of the A & M Head Coach Mark Turgeon, who is not afraid to use Holmes as neeed.

“I thought it was great against Kansas,” said Turgeon. “BJ did a great job of keeping [Collins] and run the team. Two years ago I could not play BJ in point, which shows how far we came.”

What really happened

The loss of the 12 major tournament for Kansas, Turgeon was saying something to Collins during the battle that occurs when both teams were walking to his bank during timeouts.

Turgeon on Monday to convince all that he shouted to an officer to stop what was happening, the officer when the battle took place and whether it had done his job will never be a double technical.

“They have the same problem last night at the Texas-Baylor game,” said Turgeon. “I never said anything to other players, no matter how hot it is. Even if they say anything about me, I will walk to the car and said something, but not the players.”

Too young to know what happened

Freshman Khris Middleton said he was teased for being so quiet while viewing the selection Aggies NCAA tournament Sunday program.

“It’s really fun,” he said. “I think I’m nervous, but I just watch TV. It’s easier knowing you’re in the tournament.”

Dash Sophomore point guard Harris said the new students will learn what it means on Friday, when he took the court.

“They do not realize that yet,” said Harris. “Selection Sunday, our hearts were racing to see where we are playing and we play. I’m excited about that. I can not wait to see how we defeated years ago. I do not want to experience again.

A & M won the first game against Brigham Young University last season, but never in the second-round match against No. 1 seed Connecticut, losing 92-66.

By Airport

Of the 65 teams in the tournament, with the highest salary that may have the opportunity to play for a team to win is 500 to 1. Thirteen teams from the list.

A & M 100-1 with seven other teams, including Oklahoma State. Twenty-four teams better than the 100-1, including 75-1 Texas at Baylor and 35-1. Kansas is favored by bookmakers at 9-4.

Big 12 on the list

The Big 12 has had six teams in the NCAA tournament seven times, including two last year, a record until this season when the seven Big 12 teams in the Big 12 went 11-1 in the first game round for two seasons, and the league to the team in six of seven first rounds this season – Clemson is a 1-point favorite in Missouri.

Of the 12 teams make their appearance immediately fifth, three are from the Big 12 – Kansas, Texas and A & M. Big East also has three in Marquette, Pittsburgh and Villanova.

The Big 12 also has the best winning percentage in the tournament the past two years, going 23-11 (.676). Big East is second at 28-15 (.661).

The Big 12 has five different teams (Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State) reached the regional final in 10 years, two more than any other conference.

It is difficult to juggle

Utah State is one of six teams in the tournament to have 100 percent of male basketball players graduate in 2004-08, according to the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport.

Men are April nineteen schools (academic progress rate) under scores of 925 and seven of them will be subject to punishment by the NCAA. BCS four schools in the category of Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee and Georgia Tech Ten schools have GSR (graduation success rate) is greater than 90 – anyone in the Big 12.

The objective

Utah State is seventh in the country in field goal percentage at 49.1. Rank below the last two seasons, when the Aggies are shooting team in the nation.

Utah is second nationally in 3-three-point shooting at 41.9 and seventh in free throw percentage at 76.3. This is the only team to be in the top 10 in all three categories. The Aggies have made school record 237 points this season 3.

In addition, Utah led the nation in turnover ratio help in 1,65-1.

Twelve vs. five statistics

Seeds 12 are 34-66 against No. 5 seed since 1985 when the tournament expanded to 64 teams.

Since then, No. 12 seed has won at least one match in every tournament, but three. Last year No. 12 seeds went 3-1 in the first round and ended the year 4.4 overall on a row in the second.

Utah State is 1-4 as the team number 12 with the only victory came in 2001 against Ohio State.

Texas A & M walk –

Donald Sloan has scored double digits in 16 consecutive games and has scored 20 or more points 11 times this season. … A & M is one of three teams in the field who has won at least one game in the NCAA tournament each of the last four seasons. … A & M have been playing basketball in Spokane once before falling to Washington State 75-66 at Spokane Arena in 1997. … All nine of the A & M losses this season have been the teams in the NCAA tournament. … The only winningest coach Mark Turgeon (72) in its first three years in a school teacher in Big 12 Kansas, Larry Brown (83) and Roy Williams (76). … 25.11 Mark Turgeon is general in the tournament as a coach, assistant and players.

Utah extra

Utah State is 23-0 in the last 28 games when he made five 3-point and 0-5 when not. … Utah last tournament victory was in 2001 against No. 5 seed Ohio State. The Aggies lost 58-57 to Marquette last year, led by a former assistant Buzz & M Williams. … Utah State rebounds by 30 teams of 34 goals this season and has 6.4 rebounds per game. … Coach Stew Morrill has been named Conference Coach of five times in the last 20 years. He graduated from Gonzaga, which is located in Spokane. … Utah State is 2-3 against teams in the NCAA tournament this season, defeating Brigham Young University and the State of New Mexico and lost to St. Mary and New Mexico State twice. … Utah State is playing in a tournament final for the 11th consecutive season. … Utah State is the percentage of winning the fourth-best from 2000 onwards, 766. Duke leads, 831. Kansas, 816 seconds.

NEW ORLEANS (AP)—From No. 1 to one and done: Ishmael Smith’s last shot meant one final collapse for Texas.

Smith’s pull-up jumper from about 17 feet out with 1.3 seconds remaining in overtime gave ninth-seeded Wake Forest an 81-80 win over the eighth-seeded Longhorns in the first round of the NCAA tournament Thursday night.

Texas twice rallied from double-digit deficits, then blew an eight-point lead in overtime, completing a puzzling slide after being ranked No. 1 in the country in January.

“I knew I wasn’t going to get all the way to the lane,” Smith said. “I knew I had to pull up, and thank God I made a big shot.”

It wasn’t the first crucial shot for Smith, who as a sophomore made late pull-up jumpers in the final seconds of wins over Virginia Tech and Miami. Now a senior, he made a running jumper with 19.8 seconds left in overtime to lift Wake Forest to a two-point win over Maryland a couple of months ago.

And now this.

“This has to be No. 1, obviously, because I think in the regular season you live to play another game,” Smith said. “Now you’re in a position—you lose, you go home.”

Instead, the Demon Deacons advanced to play top-seeded Kentucky in the second round of the East Regional on Saturday.

It was the third game that went to overtime on a wild first day of NCAA action. Last year, two games went to OT in the entire tournament.

The Demon Deacons (20-10) rallied from a 76-68 deficit in the extra session. They still trailed by four in the final minute, but a 3-pointer by Ari Stewart with 15.9 seconds left made it 80-79.

Gary Johnson then missed two free throws for Texas, giving Smith one more chance.

“They’re disappointed,” Texas coach Rick Barnes said. “I told them, ‘You’ve got to remember this feeling.’ The seniors, they’ve been here and they’ve done some good things, but it can end real quickly.”

Smith finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and eight turnovers.

Wake Forest went on a 17-4 run at the start of the second half to take a 54-42 lead. The Longhorns (24-10), who had wiped out an 11-point deficit in the first half, tied it at 67 on J’Covan Brown’s 3-pointer with 49.3 seconds remaining in regulation.

Wake Forest’s C.J. Harris made a free throw with 30.5 seconds left, and the Demon Deacons then stopped Texas but turned the ball over trying to inbound it. Damion James tied it for the Longhorns with a free throw with 9.9 seconds left.

Al-Farouq Aminu finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds for Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons weren’t playing any better than Texas coming into this game, having lost five of six, but they survived for another round after a game neither team was good enough to put away.

Neither coach was thrilled with the way his team handled the final seconds. After Stewart’s 3-pointer made it a one-point game, Texas got the ball to Brown, who shoots about 90 percent from the free throw line. Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio wanted his team to foul immediately, but the Demon Deacons didn’t.

“Why we didn’t foul initially J’Covan, I’m not sure,” he said. “We were supposed to foul him initially.”

Brown, however, passed off to avoid being trapped, and Wake Forest was able to foul Johnson, who then missed twice from the free throw line.

“I was watching the 10-second clock because (Brown) should have kept the ball. We wanted him to keep the ball,” Barnes said. “I told him that. What he should have done is dribbled it, and see if they would have—because they would have fouled him, because they were yelling for the foul.

“And even in that situation, that’s where he’s got to throw it and run, get it back. He had time to do that. But that’s being young.”

Brown, a freshman, scored all 20 of his points after halftime. Jordan Hamilton, another Texas freshman, scored 16 of his 19 in the first half.

Texas started 17-0 this season but slumped so badly down the stretch the Longhorns were hoping for a fresh start in the NCAA tournament.

“We started off good, playing as a team and moving the ball,” Brown said. “We just got away from it.”

The Longhorns began Thursday’s game shooting 3 of 17 from the field and fell behind by double digits. Harris made a sprawling, reverse layup to put Wake Forest ahead 12-5, and Stewart added a pair of 3-pointers to make it 18-7.

That was when Hamilton went to work. He made four 3-pointers, a tip-in and a pair of free throws to help his team go into halftime ahead 38-37.

Wake Forest’s Tony Woods did give his team some momentum with a putback dunk to end the half.

NCAA Bow Man Basketball in 2010, and women NCAA basketball bracket in 2010 formally to now. Of course, the women’s NCAA basketball bracket 2010 technically has 64 teams, but in fact one. The Huskies of Connecticut and are in control of most of the Team in the history of women, and possibly the Division of the most dominant team the first in any of the sexes over three decades.

Indeed, the Huskies broke the record on to determine the winning streak, and could beat the men at the University of California in 88 straight games in the next year. But to keep it alive, we must win the title of the first national, and women NCAA] basketball bracket by the year 2010 of 63 teams in an attempt – perhaps in vain – to stop them.

The Huskies got placed in the Dayton regional, as the first victim is possible 16′th ranked South. After that, they face the next Lama Temple, James Madison, and possibly Iowa or Virginia in the Sweet 16. On the other side, Ohio becomes a team most likely to stop and Connecticut, the No. 2 seed. Tracks the state of Florida behind them in the third, and the Big East in St. John, who got the sixth seed.

There is a difference and other areas in the segment of women NCAA] basketball in 2010. In fact, if the Huskies out of the Dayton Agreement, they could face arch-old competing in the state of Tennessee four years. Volunteers Lady returned to the place of traditional as the top seed, this time in Memphis. They start against Austin Peay, the only team in a record is lost.

United again in this area of women [NCAA bracket basketball in 2010 is the second-seeded Duke and third-seeded West Virginia. Baylor received the fourth seed, with the old powers like Texas and LSU in six and seven.

On the other hand, has played 32 teams for the right to face Connecticut in the game and national title. Women's NCAA] basketball bracket in 2010 may have had two teams undefeated, but Nebraska fell to Texas A & M in the semi-grand final 12. However, the Cornhuskers got the No. (1) workbook in Kansas City and the region, in the year after they missed the tournament final.

Redundant Nebraska is Notre Dame, who was in the state of Connecticut a record 71’st victim, respectively. Another adult Force 12, Oklahoma, got the third seed with a fourth in the state of Kentucky.
